Gallbladder stones are very common and when symptomatic, removal of the gallbladder can be indicated. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the procedure of choice.

Better known as a “lazy gallbladder”. Patients can present with similar symptoms to gallstones and usually, removal of the gallbladder will alleviate the symptoms.
When a small gallstone travels in the bile duct and blocks the duct the pancreas can get inflamed. Removal of the gallbladder is usually required to prevent further episodes.
For patients that had a Gastric Bypass and now require endoscopic exploration of the bile ducts, a Laparoscopic ERCP is usually the preferred approach.
Chronic inflammation of the gallbladder can create calcification of the gallbladder wall, also known as porcelain gallbladder. Gallbladder removal is usually recommended.
It is a very common condition that it is routinely treated with diet changes and medications. When these therapies are inefficient surgical intervention is warranted.
An esophageal diverticulum is an outpouching of the esophagus. Also known as Epiphrenc Diverticulum or Zenker’s Diverticulum. When symptomatic surgery is the best therapy.
Benign tumors of the esophagus include leiomyomas and Gastro-Intestinal Stromal Tumors. Surgical therapy is most of the time indicated as the treatment of choice.
Hiatal hernias are very common in the adult population. Most of them are asymptomatic but when symptoms present surgical repair is the treatment of choice.
A paraesophageal hernia is a larger hiatal hernia. They are classified base on the size and like hiatal hernias repair is usually recommended when symptomatic.
It is a neuromuscular disease of the lower esophageal sphincter that can cause difficulty swallowing. Several lines of treatment are available but surgical therapy is the most permanent type.
